Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) opens for application
Applications for ASPB's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) are now open! SURFs provide promising undergraduate students who are researching topics in or closely related to plant biology a $4,000 (USD) summer stipend, $700 for materials, and an ASPB membership. Additionally, awardees are invited to present their research at Plant Biology 2024, taking place in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Taiwan Experience Education Programme (TEEP) internship opens for application

In 2015, Taiwan’s Ministry of Education launched the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) to encourage more international students to participate in short-term professional internship projects organized by Taiwanese universities and colleges. TEEP also allows international students to gain an in-depth educational experience in Taiwan, while also preparing themselves for the Asian job market.

This research topic aims to gather research papers and review papers to gain insight of the future research direction. The following sub-topics are welcome:
• Bioinformatic research on DNA sequencing or RNA sequencing for revealing MGE transfers to plants
• Studies of MGE transfers to plants during evolution
• Mechanistic studies on the transfer of MGEs to plants
• Functional studies of the MGEs transferred to plants
• Functional studies of genes regulating the MGE transfer to plants
